Display Settings For Macbook

BUT When I recently upgraded to Windows Vista Home Premium, what happens periodically when starting my PC, my monitor can not handle my display settings of 1680 X 1050, what I have to do is alter moniter display settings to 1280 X 1024, turn off PC, then restart PC then reconfigure back to 1680 X 1070 to get my display settings working again. Although the drivers are 100% up to date, can you advise what may be causing this problem. As this getts annoying having to reset & restart to get settings correct. I have a Dell Dimension 9150 with 2gb memory & ATI Radeon X300 X550 X1050 Series video card Pentium CPU 2.80 ghz - CPU 2.79 ghz, 160 gb hard drive. Also periodically when booting up the monitor will not show anything on screen, dont know if it has not booted correct or monitor display not working. Any help appreciated.
